Using the number well
Use your own rates
The starting figures are examples, not benchmarks. Rates from your own CRM, even rough ones, make the result far more useful.
Plan on meetings held
A booked meeting that does not happen produces nothing. Raising the show rate is often the cheapest way to lower the number of meetings you need.
Check the calendar can take it
If the weekly number is more meetings than your team can prepare for and run well, the target needs more people, better conversion, or a longer period.
Better targeting beats more volume
Booking more meetings with the wrong accounts lowers the opportunity rate, which raises the number of meetings needed again.
FAQ
Sales meeting questions
Deals needed are the revenue target divided by the average deal size, rounded up to whole deals. Opportunities needed are deals divided by the win rate, meetings held are opportunities divided by the opportunity rate, and meetings to book are meetings held divided by the show rate. The weekly figure divides meetings to book by the number of reps and the weeks in the period.
A month counts as 52 ÷ 12 weeks, a quarter as 13 weeks, and a year as 52 weeks. Holidays and quieter weeks are not removed, so the real weekly number may be higher.
